River Stort Navigation River Stort / River Lee Junction
The shallow waters of the River Stort join the deeper, wider River Lee at Fieldes weir. The weir is on the south side of the junction and visible from the junction and down river on the Lee to the south is Roydon Lock. To the north the river passes the stadium at Rye House on its east bank, passes under the M25 and reaches its first upstream lock past the marina at Stanstead Abbotts and under the road bridge. The west side of the river is lined with industry and prominent is the large Sainsbury's distribution depot.
