Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation H E Y B R I D G E S E A L O C K Lock number: 12 Height: 14 ft 10 ins Heybridge Sea Lock can only operate at high tide for suitable craft and feeds into the River Blackwater estuary at Collier's Reach. The River Blackwater is muddy and shallow at low tide with strong currents during the tidal flow.
